Opportunity Still Rolling After 10 years

Opportunity Still Rolling After 10 years

Take a look at the latest video by the excellent Spacerip. This video looks back at the 10 years that the martian rover, Opportunity has been operational on our nearest planet. The mission was only due to last 90 days but Opportunity is still going strong and delivering new finds.

The video interviews the crew here on Earth that control and look after Opportunity and track its journey from Eagle crater. There are some lovely images of the changing surface of Mars along the journey.

The video describes how the greatest achievement is being able to repair and maintain a rover on a distant planet’s surface for 10 years and how that will help future missions too.

Enjoy the video.
