Martian Rivers and Islands

Martian Rivers and Islands

Perspective view of Osuga Valles node full image.jpg

I can’t get enough of the amazingly dynamic looking features that are beamed back to us from the ESA’s Mars Express. The images of a Mars since gone where water flowed fast and carved out islands are breathtaking. This latest image shows a portion of the Osuga Valles. A 164km long outlflow channel that may have drained into a lake. The perspective image above is aligned as if the water was flowing towards the top of the picture. It is thought that there was once fast flowing water here.
