Aliens on Mars? Strange Bright Spots Spark Alien Stories

The Curiosity rover lived up to its name recently. The rover beamed back images with strange bright spots coming from the landscape. This sparked cries of ‘aliens’ but what could these anomalies really be? NASA announced that the bright spots are a common finding and are present nearly every week. They are thought to be caused by sunlight glinting off rocks or by cosmic rays striking the camera. So no aliens yet, but Curiosity never ceases to disappoint. You can just make out the bright spot top left of this image on the distant ridge.
